However, I’ve noticed a couple of things:

If my dog pees a lot or the pad is left sitting too long with urine, it will eventually soak through.

When my dog pees a really large amount or goes too quickly, the liquid can splash out before the pad has time to absorb it fully.

For light to moderate use, they’re reliable and convenient, but if your dog is a heavy wetter or tends to go all at once, you may need to change them more often or use something extra underneath for added protection.

We have an elderly cat that doesn't seem comfortable with using her litter box any longer; at least not on a regular basis. She'll do her business outside or will pee in front of the litter box. I would place newspaper on a couple of plastic bags to catch the liquid but that just got old & messy after a while. Then one day I got the bright idea to get puppy pads and they have made the cleanup so much easier.

I place a bit of vinegar or a few drops of peppermint oil in the corners to deter her from using the pads (to encourage her to move back to the litter box) but to no avail. At least the peppermint has a fresh smell.

Until I can figure out why she avoids the litter box (besides just being an obstinate old lady), I'll keep these puppy pads handy.

These are fine, nothing too special write home about. They do the job, but no more than the bare minimum. They absorb an initial potty just fine, but if you’re not on top of switching them out and your pet ‘uses the restroom’ often, it will add up and leak or get messy. They’re quite flimsy and get crinkled up quickly if your pet doesn’t pick up paws all the way and moves around a lot. Even if your pet doesn’t use it for number one or two, but rather just sat on or moved around on quite a bit, it gets ratty rather easily and still may need to be replaced. If I’m being completely honest, if you’re highly depending on potty pads, there are better options. If you only need it as a backup or just in case of an accident, these should be totally fine. Since in our case (a special needs pet), we are heavily dependent on good potty pads, we have decided it’s worth it to us to pay more for a better pack of pads- in the long run, the money balances out since we don’t have to be as frequent in replacing them. We believe she has cancer (tho the vet advised there isn't much we can do beyond make her comfortable). She is almost completely blind, and I suspect her kidneys are beginning to fail also... We tried some store brand pads, but there is so much liquid, they would just be floating on it in the morning. Sure, they saved a bit on paper towel usage, but thats about the best I could say for them.

Finally I ordered these - partially because they are bigger, and partially because they are less expensive than the store brand ones. We were going thru 3 - 4 per night, and that adds up fast.

Last night I laid out two of these (they are huge compared to the others) When Sisu had her accident, it all stayed on the one she was standing on. Somehow she didn't accidentally drag it across the floor or tear it with her nails either. Could be just a lucky night for the housekeeper (yay, me!) but cleanup was as easy as rolling up the dirty pad and tossing it. Thats it! It absorbed all the liquid, no overflow. No puddle beneath. No drippy mess trying to get it into a trash bag. No gloves and Nature's Miracle, and half a roll of paoer towels. Just rolled it up and tossed it.

We are subscribing for these pads for the foreseeable future. No need to try other brands. This is perfect for our home with its beloved geriatric dog.

So I bought these to try out disposable litter boxes for the first time because we keep them in a new wooden cabinet enclosure and of course don’t want it ruined. We knew we did not want something that would risk that. Amazon products are always impressive so I figured it was a no brainer to try these, and here we are. Never thought my future had mr making long video’s on pee pads to show y’all these are the real deal-haha. Many years ago I worked as a vet tech, fostered homeless animals, and had a medium sized dog with kidney failure of my own so you can only imagine my experience with pee pads. I also have been raising five daughters, two stepdaughters, two dogs and two cats-I’m literally always cleaning. If only these were around 25 years ago! As a busy mom of seven I’ll be using these for a million things now too! They are amazing and I can prove it! I just did an experiment with 5 cups of water-did them in three separate cups because I had to pour left handed and have terrible grip on that side so I didn't want to drop it. I have a brand name decently thick paper towels under the pad to show if moisture seeps through. I did the experiment at a craft counter because our granite in the kitchen would not show if it was wet. Three things need to be mentioned: 1. There are a few random imprints on the paper towels but thats not moisture-they came right off the roll that way. 2. There is a water drop on the counter afterwards…but thats from my doing not the pad. I awkwardly flipped it up before it soaked in up in that corner. 3. The second video is about a minute after the first. I had to move closer to show this but had my toddler on the floor with toys I did not want to step on-all you parents will relate. I am not part of some group trying to make sales and am not paid to do this review. I just felt it was helpful to someone who was like me a few days ago scrolling through 547.9 different products playing roulette hoping I didnt waste hard earned money and wreck my beautiful cabinet. I obviously recommend these and Ill be keeping in subscribe and save monthly. There was absolutely zero soak through, the gel is fast acting but obviously it takes a short time to soak in once its up to 5+ cups- haha. But, I didn't renew my card so alternate options had to be considered. I lay down 4 and overlap somewhat to create a square. My dog is 20 yrs old and is a potty pad baby since birth. She has never missed her potty area. So for us, there is no leakage... yet. I do find these pads to be extremely thin! That is my concern right now. The Kirkland brand are thicker and contains the urine to a smaller area. These pee pads catch the urine, but it is spread to the size of a dinner plate when she is done. She, meaning a female, 10 lb chihuahua dog! And she HATES to get her feet wet when she is peeing! I was hoping that when I took the pads out of the bag they were suctioned in, they would fluff up some, but no. I can see myself changing these pads more often. She (MY KITTEN,) would not sleep on her flofy soft sleeping PILLOW. Since layering the pen with these pads I have noticed that my kitten sleep comfortable on Pads.She rolls around /play with the pads and believe or not she even use one of the pads to cover her litter box.
