I thought it would have been filled a bit more— more dense— but it’s definitely on the thinner side. The flap covers like half of the bed so the animal can only be under it if they’re on one half. The blanket is sewn onto basically 3 sides with one opening. There is plenty of room for her in the bed with enough blanket for cover.
The packaging was a bit banged up went I received it but it could be due to the shipper and not the seller.The bottom is made of a more durable type of material so I think it will last.

As for how plush the bottom of the bed is, I would have to say a dog that is up to 25lbs or more (I bought a SMALL), would definitely smash it down. I would think it would need a more firm cushion to be able to withstand the weight of 25lbs. Since my Chi is so tiny, I don't have to worry about that.
I've washed this bed 5 times in my front loading washer in cold/delicate and dried it on extra low. It has retained it's shape and softness and I do not use fabric softener or dryer sheets.
The bed is quite big for my little Chi as you can see from the pics. There are two sizes you can get, small and medium. Small states for pets up to 25lbs and Medium states for pets up to 35lbs. I purchased the small and I would say that a 25lb pet would fit in there snugly. I just wish the Small was smaller for toy breeds that would be smaller than their Small and for like 10lbs pups or less.
The only other thing that I found I didn't like as much is that the blanket overs about 60% of the bed. I think if it covered about 75% it would work a lot better for those colder nights.

Soft, cozy little bed May 25, 2021 Verified Purchase After my dog's favorite 5 year old bed exploded in the washer I bought some fancier 'orthopedic' type beds that had a velvet like fabric covering. They were a bit pricey and I thought they'd be good because she's old and has arthritis in multiple joints, and gets warm easily (they were supposed to be 'cooling'). She has never taken to them, even after a year of trying to get her to use them by putting them in her favorite places, covering them with her blankets, etc.
I bought this cheaper, normal stuffing filled bed and she fell in love immediately. Plopped right down and fell asleep.Shows what I know trying to buy her something fancy lol.She's a 7lb yorkie and the bed is small enough that she seems to feel cozy but just big enough she can stretch out if she wants. There is apparently enough stuffing on the bottom that she's very comfortable in the bed even on a hard floor. I'll probably end up donating the others and getting a couple more of these for the different spots she hangs out in.
My dog very rarely has accidents inside and is not a chewer, so I can't speak to the durability or washability of the bed in relation to that. She IS a burrower and the fabric seems to be holding up to that just fine, although again she's a very small dog.

Good bed overall November 18, 2019 Verified Purchase Perfect for my 16lbs shih tzu poodle mix. This is the only bed he’ll sleep on. I’ve gotten him those flat memory foam beds, but he won’t have anything to do with them. He likes the burrow blanket that’s attached to the bed and will play with it when it’s not in his play pen.
There are a couple of improvements I would suggest. 1. More durability. My dog is a moderate chewer despite his size. There’s a small hole at the bottom from his “roughhousing” with the bed. Nothing I can’t fix by sewing, but would be nice if it was a bit tougher and made with a tougher material for the bottom. 2. More stuffing. Don’t waste your money if you ever plan on washing this bed... January 20, 2020 Color: Gray IlanSize: SmallVerified Purchase Purchased two of these... one in October and a second one in December. Both were great beds for my elderly 13 pound cat. He absolutely loved them (which is why I bought a second one). But that’s where the good times ended. First one, my cat was very sick and couldn’t make it to the litter box so he peed on/in the bed. Now mind you, he wasn’t burrowed in the pocket, he was on top of the pet bed, which was covered with a towel and a folded soft minky blanket (his bedding preference). The urine went through every layer including the top of the pocket and all the way through to the bottom of the bed. So no, this bed is NOT ‘resistant’ to water. Fortunately, I had the foresight to place a waterproof pad underneath the pet bed so the urine didn’t make it to my mattress as well. Followed the instructions to launder the bed on gentle... only to open my washer to find 8,000 pieces of poly-fil ALL. OVER. EVERYWHERE. I sighed, spent 10-15 minutes extracting the pieces, and chunked the entire thing in the trash. Figured I just got the one dud In the batch that wasn’t quite up to par on quality. My cat, on the other hand, was not as forgiving and bellowed for 2 solid days until I could get a replacement.
Round two was much less short-lived than round one. My cat was so excited about having his bed back that he immediately burrowed in the pocket and went sound asleep. Four hours later, I hear him hacking up what I thought was a fur ball... only to discover he has thrown up all over the bed. Back to the washer I went. Used the gentle cycle again and the shortest spin cycle possible... and guess what? There were only about 5,000 pieces of poly-fil presented to me this time. I give up.So, I’m done. Cat is out of his favorite bed for good and I’m out $75-80 for two worthless pieces of well, trash, since that’s were they both ended up.
