SCHITEC Smart Ball: Product Overview and Core Technology

The SCHITEC Smart Ball is engineered specifically for robust, active play. At its core is a gyroscope-driven motorized device housed inside a highly durable, chew-resistant shell. The product is approximately the size of a standard baseball (3.15 x 3.15 x 3.15 inches) and weighs a manageable 5.64 ounces, making it easy for medium and large breeds to carry, yet large enough to minimize swallowing hazards.

The magic lies in its autonomous function. Once activated, the internal motor causes the ball to engage in unpredictable motions: bouncing, rolling, and vibrating in random patterns. This mimicry of prey or an unpredictable living creature is what captures and holds the dog’s attention far longer than a static toy. This focus on erratic movement is key to providing intensive mental stimulation and ensuring the dog is engaged in problem-solving and chasing behaviors.

The ball is powered by a rechargeable battery, utilizing a modern USB-C charging port (though a charging block is not included, which is standard practice today). The IP54 rating indicates significant resistance to water and dirt, making quick rinses after slobbery indoor sessions or dusty outdoor adventures simple and worry-free. This self-playing dog exercise ball is a sophisticated piece of equipment designed to shoulder some of the daily burden of exercise for busy owners.

What is ETPU and Why Does it Matter?

One of the most critical features that sets the SCHITEC ball apart is its construction material: ETPU (Expanded Thermoplastic Polyurethane). If you are looking for a chew resistant ETPU dog ball, this material is a huge selling point.

ETPU is a high-performance, foamed thermoplastic known for its excellent elasticity, superior durability, and low density. For dog toys, this translates to several benefits:

  • Softness on Teeth: Unlike hard plastic motorized toys, the pliable ETPU exterior is softer, making it gentler on a dog's teeth and gums during vigorous play and carrying.
  • Chew Resistance: While no toy is truly indestructible, ETPU is highly resilient and handles moderate-to-strong chewing much better than standard foam or low-grade rubber, lasting for months or years in appropriate hands.
  • Bounce and Impact Absorption: The foamed structure allows the ball to bounce effectively and absorb the shock of hard impacts against furniture or walls, adding safety for both your pet and your home.
  • Buoyancy (Implied): While not explicitly marketed for water retrieval, the light, foam-like structure inherently makes it resistant to sinking, enhancing its versatility as an indoor outdoor interactive dog ball.

Several reviewers noted that this material felt like a combination of compressed rubber and pliable foam, confirming its unique structure that deters aggressive chewers precisely because the movement makes it hard to pin down and destroy.

Deconstructing the Play Experience: Modes and Motion

To cater to different personalities and energy levels—from the cautious rescue dog to the high-octane Labrador—the SCHITEC ball offers three adjustable play modes. This feature is crucial for pet owners seeking a customized experience and ensures the toy remains engaging over time.

The Three Play Modes (Gentle, Normal, Active/Crazy)

The modes control the speed, intensity, and variability of the internal motor:

  1. Gentle Mode (Slow): Ideal for introductions or for older dogs. The movement is slower, less erratic, mostly rolling, and uses minimal vibration. This allows nervous dogs, like the Shih Tzu mentioned in the reviews, to warm up to the "intruder" without being scared away immediately.
  2. Normal Mode: A blend of rolling and moderate bouncing/vibration. This mode is excellent for maintaining consistent engagement and is perfect for a regular 30-minute play session to burn off mid-level energy.
  3. Active Mode (Crazy Kid): As reviewers affectionately called it, this is the "Crazy" or "Wild" mode. The motor runs at maximum power, causing intense vibration and erratic bouncing. This mode is explicitly designed to wear out even the most energetic breeds, like German Shepherds and Labs, often resulting in a panting, happily exhausted dog after just 10 or 15 minutes.

Smart Features: Obstacle Avoidance and Auto-Shutdown

The SCHITEC motorized dog toy operates using smart technology to ensure continuous play. It utilizes an internal mechanism that senses when the ball gets stuck or encounters an obstacle (like a table leg or wall). Instead of simply vibrating endlessly and draining the battery, the ball automatically redirects itself, finding a new path. This smart dog ball for boredom and anxiety is engineered to avoid getting trapped under furniture, thereby maximizing continuous playtime.

Furthermore, the ball includes an auto-shutdown feature. After a designated period of continuous play or if it remains idle after a certain time, it powers down to conserve battery life, ensuring that you get the full 1–4 hours of use per charge.

SCHITEC Interactive Dog Toy Ball: Comprehensive Pros and Cons

As with any high-tech pet product, the SCHITEC Smart Ball has clear advantages and a few operational quirks that potential buyers must consider. Our analysis is drawn directly from the experience of owners who have used this toy extensively with their high-energy medium and large dogs.

Pros: Unmatched Engagement and Durability

  • Exceptional Energy Burner: Highly effective at burning excess energy quickly. Reviewers noted 10-15 minutes in "Crazy Mode" was enough to exhaust an active German Shepherd. This makes it a great solution for mental stimulation dog toy for busy owners.
  • Combats Destructive Behavior: By providing a reliable outlet for chasing and predatory instincts, the ball helps redirect behaviors that often lead to chewing furniture or inappropriate items.
  • Durable ETPU Construction: The chew-resistant, robust, yet pliable material is much safer and more durable than hard plastic alternatives, holding up well even against aggressive chewers (especially because the continuous movement deters deep gnawing).
  • Smart Movement and Obstacle Avoidance: The unpredictable motion and ability to self-correct when stuck keeps the dog curious and engaged, unlike simple rolling balls.
  • Water-Resistant Shell (IP54): Allows for easy cleaning of slobber and light outdoor use, a crucial feature for any dog toy.
  • Rechargeable Convenience: USB-C charging is quick and convenient, providing long-lasting playtime (1-4 hours) per charge.

Cons: Operational Friction and Price Point

  • Awkward On/Off Mechanism: The most frequent complaint is the necessity to unscrew the two halves of the ball to access the power button, change modes, and charge. If the dog has been playing, the interior components must be accessed through a slobber-covered shell, making cleanup necessary before operation.
  • Inconsistent Bounce on Carpet: While it works on carpet, the "bouncing" action is less pronounced on medium or high-pile rugs; it tends to vibrate and wiggle more than truly bounce, limiting its movement compared to hard floors (tile, vinyl, hardwood).
  • High Initial Price: Priced in the $30–$42 range, it is considered expensive compared to non-motorized toys. Buyers must weigh the long-term value of a durable, automated toy against the initial cost.
  • Risk of Power Button Failure: One isolated but significant concern raised in reviews noted the power button failing after only a few uses, leading to the ball running until the battery died. This highlights the importance of good customer service for technical issues.
  • Supervision Required: Due to the two-piece assembly and internal components, continuous supervision is recommended, especially for heavy chewers, to ensure the parts do not become a choking hazard if the dog manages to unscrew the ball.

Who Is This Toy Really For? (Target Audience Analysis)

While the SCHITEC ball is undeniably fun, it is not universally suited for every dog or owner. Based on the product specifications and consumer feedback, we can identify three primary customer profiles who will benefit most:

  1. The Owner of a High-Energy Medium to Large Dog (The Exercise Seeker): If you own a breed over 35 pounds—such as a Lab, Boxer, German Shepherd, or Hound mix—that requires significant activity, this toy is ideal. It provides the intense physical workout necessary to satisfy their need to chase and pounce.

If you are constantly looking for ways to exhaust your canine athlete, you can check out the SCHITEC Smart Ball here: View on Amazon for High-Energy Breeds

  2. The Owner Dealing with Boredom and Anxiety (The Mental Stimulator): Dogs that are prone to destructive behavior when left alone, or those suffering from restlessness and anxiety, need productive mental outlets. This toy acts as a reliable, self-directed source of mental stimulation that teaches problem-solving and keeps the mind busy. The random movements force the dog to constantly adapt its chasing strategy.
  3. The Owner of a Non-Aggressive, Playful Small or Medium Dog (The Cautious Player): While primarily recommended for large dogs, many smaller, non-aggressive breeds like Shih Tzus and Cocker Spaniels also adore the toy. The size is manageable (like a large tennis ball), and the erratic movement provides exciting play. However, owners of small aggressive chewers should be wary, as replacement covers might be needed frequently.

Crucially, this product is not recommended as a permanent chew toy for unsupervised use, nor is it suitable for dogs whose primary goal is to shred and ingest foreign objects. It is a fantastic interactive tool designed for engagement, not silent destruction.

How to Use and Maintain Your Motorized Pet Chase Toy

Operating the SCHITEC ball involves a simple but necessary physical interaction with the device's internal motor.

Step-by-Step Operation:

  1. Disassemble: Unscrew the two halves of the ETPU outer shell. This reveals the internal motorized core.
  2. Charge: Before first use, fully charge the core using the included USB-C cable. Charging is generally quick.
  3. Activate/Mode Select: Locate the button on the motor. Hold it down for a few seconds to power it on/off. Press briefly to toggle between the three modes (Gentle, Normal, Active).
  4. Reassemble: Align the two halves using the guide shapes (square to square, round to round) and screw the ball back together snugly. It is vital to ensure it is tightened well to maintain water resistance and prevent the dog from opening it.
  5. Play: Place it on the floor (preferably hard floor or low-pile carpet) and watch the fun begin!

Maintenance and Cleaning:

Due to the inherent slobber factor when dogs play with balls, the SCHITEC requires simple maintenance. Since the ball is IP54 water-resistant, you can quickly rinse the exterior under a sink to remove residue, preventing the unscrewing process from becoming a "double hand, full palm twist a slobber covered ball apart" ordeal, as one reviewer candidly described it. Always ensure the shell is dry before opening it to access the motor for charging or mode changes.

Durability Deep Dive: Assessing Chew Resistance and Longevity

For a premium-priced toy, durability is paramount. The SCHITEC ball is positioned as a long-term investment, largely due to its ETPU construction.

Based on extensive feedback, the durability holds up exceptionally well, primarily because the motorized, erratic movement serves as a major deterrent to aggressive chewing. When the ball vibrates or bounces away while a dog is trying to chew it, they often drop it and resume chasing. As one owner observed, this movement kept his aggressive chewer Cocker Spaniel from settling down to do any real damage.

However, owners must maintain realistic expectations. If a dog is left unsupervised and is determined to chew the ball stationary, the soft exterior will eventually succumb. The manufacturer addresses this by offering replacement covers, acknowledging that wear and tear on the outer shell is inevitable, particularly for strong breeds. This commitment to replaceable parts adds significantly to the product’s longevity and makes it a viable choice for those seeking a durable interactive dog toy for high energy dogs.

The internal motor, protected by the hard inner shell and the thick ETPU foam, appears robust, provided the power button does not experience failure. The biggest threat to the motor is moisture intrusion if the ball is not screwed tightly enough after charging, reinforcing the need for owner vigilance.

Owners of new puppies may find this toy to be a great, high-value investment that helps them establish appropriate play patterns from a young age.

Value Proposition: SCHITEC vs. Traditional & Competitor Toys

To truly understand the value of the SCHITEC Smart Ball, we need to compare it against common alternatives, focusing on the features that command its premium price.

Feature SCHITEC Smart Ball (Motorized ETPU) Hard Plastic Motorized Balls (Competitors) Traditional Rubber Balls (e.g., Chuck-It)
Movement & Engagement Smart, autonomous, unpredictable rolling, vibrating, and bouncing. High engagement, excellent for mental stimulation. Loud, repetitive rolling/wiggling. Can be scary or frustrating for dogs. Static; requires human or self-push activation. Low mental stimulation.
Durability/Material ETPU foam: Chew resistant, soft on teeth, great shock absorption. Good longevity, with replaceable covers available. Hard Plastic: High risk of cracking or breaking. Loud operation. Hard on teeth. Solid Rubber: Highly durable against chewing, but offers zero autonomous movement.
Power Source Rechargeable USB-C. Multiple hours of play per charge. Often uses AA or AAA batteries (less convenient, higher running cost). None.
Operation Friction Requires unscrewing the shell to activate/charge. Can be messy. Often uses external switch or remote control; sometimes easier to use. Minimal.
Ideal For High-energy dogs needing solo entertainment, mental exercise, and energy reduction. Dogs tolerant of loud, unnatural movements. Fetch and supervised play.
Cost Analysis Premium price ($30-$42). Justified by durability, smart features, and self-play hours. Mid-range to high. Often lacks durability to justify the cost. Low cost. Excellent value for money for traditional play.

Analysis of Differentiators

The SCHITEC ball justifies its position as a premium product primarily through its material and motion control. While the operation (unscrewing the shell) is clunky, the consensus among owners is that the performance is outstanding. For example, one reviewer noted the ball is "like a squirrel and a Roomba having a baby," emphasizing the unique, erratic motion that captures a dog's full attention.

Unlike cheaper, rigid plastic motorized balls which are often noisy and quickly destroyed, the ETPU construction provides necessary cushioning, making the SCHITEC ball quieter and safer for indoor play. For owners seeking a long-term solution to curb excessive energy, the initial expense transforms into long-term savings by protecting furniture and providing focused, constructive activity.

For the busy owner who needs reliable, autonomous entertainment for their pet, the SCHITEC motorized dog toy with variable modes offers a significant advantage over competitors who rely on repetitive, less engaging motions.

Conclusion: Is the SCHITEC Smart Automatic Dog Toy Worth the Investment?

The SCHITEC Smart Interactive Dog Toy Ball stands out as a high-quality, high-tech solution for pet owners battling canine boredom and excess energy. Its unique combination of durable, teeth-friendly ETPU material, rechargeable convenience, and sophisticated motorized movement makes it a leader in the interactive pet toy market.

Yes, the price is higher than average, and the mechanism for turning it on/off (requiring disassembly) introduces an element of operational friction. However, these minor drawbacks are overwhelmingly overshadowed by the immense value it provides: rapid energy depletion, significant mental stimulation, and a proven ability to deter destructive chewing through constant motion.

If you own a robust, high-energy dog who needs more than a standard fetch session to be satisfied, or if you are looking for a reliable, self-directed playmate to engage your pet while you are busy, the SCHITEC Smart Ball is a worthwhile, durable, and highly recommended investment. It truly fulfills its promise of being the ultimate self-playing dog exercise ball.

Great toy for some self paced and supervised play August 2, 2025 Color: BlueAmazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? ) This is pretty awesome.

My German Shepherd loves it. He will play with it, well, pretty much forever if I let him.

To turn it on, you’ll have to spin the ball off of the motor, which means the ball is a two piece assembly. What this really means is that while all toys should be monitored, this one in particular should be monitored. It can come apart, but as long as you’re keeping an eye on your dog and get it tightly assembled, it holds up very well. If it comes loose, you just tighten it up.

It holds up for longer than I want to let it be played with. Mainly, I can’t watch him play with it closely enough long enough to run the battery out. Easy to recharge it too, just takes an included USB-C cable. For the record, it doesn’t come with a charging block, but that seems pretty standard anymore.

The ball seems pretty durable, but like I said, I definitely would not suggest this as unsupervised play. Try and reserve this for times when you can watch over your dogs pretty closely.

I’d say the worst part of this is honestly just turning it off. It’s not hard to do. You unscrew the ball and hold the button on the motor to turn it off. But… if your dog is anything like mine, that ball is going to be soaked with some nasty slobber. For me, I run it under the sink and rinse some of the grossness off of it. As long as it’s tight, it seems water tight enough to prevent that quick rinse from getting to the motor and it saves me from having to double hand, full palm twist a slobber covered ball apart.

All told, this is a great toy for a dog that needs a little mental and physical stimulation. Just about 15 minutes or less and my shepherd, who will play forever if you let him, was panting, tongue hanging out the side of his mouth. It’s pretty awesome.

Automatic Bouncing and Rolling Ball for High-Energy Dogs September 9, 2025 Color: BlueAmazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? ) The SCHITEC Interactive Dog Toy is a high-tech, motorized ball designed to keep medium and large dogs entertained, active, and mentally stimulated. Its smart automatic bouncing and rolling motions mimic the unpredictable movements of prey, encouraging pets to chase, pounce, and play for extended periods. This is an excellent solution for high-energy dogs who need more engagement than traditional chew toys or balls can provide.

Made from durable, pet-safe materials, the ball can withstand vigorous play and moderate chewing, making it suitable for robust play sessions. The toy’s motorized design allows it to roll, vibrate, and bounce in random directions, keeping dogs curious and engaged, while helping to burn off excess energy. Its bright blue color is visually appealing, making it easy to spot indoors or outdoors.

This toy is particularly effective for dogs prone to boredom or destructive behavior, as it promotes exercise and mental stimulation. Owners can use it to entertain their pets when busy or at home, helping to reduce anxiety and restlessness. The rechargeable battery ensures long-lasting playtime, although frequent use may require periodic recharging.

One notable feature is the toy’s ability to adapt to different surfaces; it works well on carpet, tile, and hardwood, allowing versatile indoor use. However, supervision is recommended for the first few sessions to ensure the dog interacts safely and does not chew on the motorized components.

Pros: Engaging and interactive, motorized movement keeps dogs active, durable construction, suitable for medium to large dogs, rechargeable battery.
Cons: May require supervision for safety, battery needs periodic recharging.

This SCHITEC smart ball is ideal for energetic dogs who love to chase and play, providing a fun way to keep them entertained and exercised while adding an interactive element to their daily routine.

Not sure who loves it more!!! Me or my dogs??!!! August 11, 2025 Color: BlueAmazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? ) This ball is everything and more!!! it took a while for my dogs to get used to it and not be scared , but this warm up period of time gave me more laughs than a stand-up comedy show!!

This ball can be charged with a USB cord, and it rolls, jitters, bounces, and does all the things!!! I literally have to turn it off to get them to calm down and relax because they would play with us all day and chase it around if I left it on!! It’s about the size of a regular baseball with some type of sturdy foam construction on the outside. The ball twists open and you can remove the part that bounces and jitters to charge it and turn it off and on. Simple to open and close. Just make sure you don’t put it in upside down like me. You’ll know because one end it square and one is round. I miss these important little things sometimes 😂

I have a Shih Tzu and a cocker spaniel and I was a little concerned because the cocker spaniel is an aggressive chewer, but I think the fact that it moves so much has deterred him from doing any damage because when he picks it up in his mouth, and then it starts jittering, he drops it and starts chasing it again!

The video is of my Shih Tzu when I first put it down and as you can see, she reacted like it was an intruder!! More laughs for me, but she has also now warmed up to it and they have a great time playing with it and chasing it around the house! It has some kind of setting that if it gets stuck, it goes off, which I guess is to eliminate the battery from dying. That’s a great feature. This ball also must have some kind of smart technology because if it gets under something or too close to something at redirects.

Whatever the construction is behind this ball, anything that makes me laugh this hard is gonna get five stars!!!

Get it!!

Hours of fur kid fun September 14, 2025 Color: BlueAmazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? ) My friend and I have really active fur kids. She has 4 labs. My rescue fur child is a playful hound mix. It's always a challenge to find enough enrichment to keep them entertained. I was curious about the ETPU material the ball is constructed of, as I was unfamiliar with it. It's more pliable than plastic, and feels like compressed rubber. It's softer on the fur babies' teeth, easier to chew and carry. The ball has 3 modes which I call slow, active, or crazy kid. My rescue baby was a bit uncertain as she is scared of fast moving things. My friend's labs all took to it immediately. They chased each other all day playing tag and trying to take the ball away from each other. It comes with a cute carrying bag. The inside mechanical spinner can be removed to recharge. It's fun to watch the ball 'hop' around as the fur babies get near. Great way to keep fur babies occupied. Customer image Customer image

Effectively entertained my corgi puppy for 2 hours! August 17, 2025 Color: BlueAmazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? ) This auto-bouncing ball kept my 5-month-old corgi puppy entertained for nearly two hours. He just sat there barking at it to his heart's content. So that's a winner (outside of the barking). Note that he rarely put the ball in his mouth, so I can't say how durable it is on the chewability.

I put the ball inside of his playpen, which is covered in a thin mat on top of a medium-pile rug. On this surface, the ball didn't really bounce; it mostly just vibrated around.

To charge and activate the ball, you do have to disassemble it by unscrewing both halves and plugging the motor into a USB-C charger. There is a little bit of effort to re-align the pieces for re-assembly (square hole goes into square hole and round hole into round one), but it's not that difficult.

I'm subtracting one star, because I think it's too expensive for what it is. The list price when I got it was close to $40, where it really seems like a $20 toy, maybe $25 with tariffs.

Great Energy Burner for High-Energy Dogs August 10, 2025 Color: BlueAmazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? ) Right out of the box, this interactive ball impressed me with its solid build and clever design. The foam outer shell feels tough but still soft enough for safe indoor play, and the motor inside gives it unpredictable movement that keeps my dog engaged. With three speed/movement modes, it’s easy to match the intensity to your dog’s comfort level—mine went from cautious curiosity to full-on chasing in minutes.

The battery life is solid, giving plenty of playtime per charge, and recharging via USB-C is quick and convenient. I do agree with other reviewers that turning it on/off requires unscrewing the shell, which can be a bit messy if it’s been rolling around in slobber, but that’s a small trade-off for the entertainment it provides.

This is best used under supervision—especially for heavy chewers—but for an energetic dog that needs mental and physical stimulation, it’s a fantastic toy. Ten minutes in “crazy” mode and my pup is happily worn out.

To many moving parts and a swallowing hazard. August 30, 2025 Color: RedAmazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? ) Got this for our big chewers. Our dog loves toys. This toy has a few modes can be played in, but you have to unscrew it to change the mode and to charge it. So not super user friendly as far as ease of use. We played around with this for awhile but just couldnt get it to work. That being said there are alot of moving parts to this toy. If it somehow opened while in play the motor is small enough for our dog to swallow. I worry this toy wouldn't be safe. Sadly I dont reccomend this for big dogs. So fun while it worked—but major issue with the power button August 7, 2025 Color: RedAmazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? ) I was so excited when I saw this—it’s such a fun idea, and I immediately wanted it for my dog! She loves medium Chuck-it balls, and I thought this larger alternative would be a great way to keep her entertained when inside.

Technically, the ball is made with a motorized core surrounded by a couple inches of dog-safe foam. The cushion adds a layer of safety for both the dog and your home, which I appreciated. However, turning it on and off is a bit of a process. You have to unscrew the ball to reach the tiny on/off button on the motor, hold it down for a few seconds, and then quickly screw the ball back together while it starts vibrating. Turning it off is even trickier since it’s moving while you’re trying to do it. I wouldn’t recommend this for anyone who doesn’t have good dexterity or patience (like my older parents).

The big downside: on the third use, the power button stopped working entirely. We couldn’t turn it off at all—my husband and I both tried, and it just kept going full speed. The motor is surprisingly strong, so once we realized it wouldn’t shut off, we were basically stuck waiting for the battery to die. Now we’re hesitant to charge it again.

If the power button issue hadn’t happened, I’d probably be raving about this. My dog loved it for the short time it worked. She had to get used to it of course, but it was an exciting challenge. If you’re willing to contact customer service or roll the dice, it’s worth trying—but be warned, it may be more finicky than it seems.

PS. If your dog loves foam balls anyways, this might be worth the risk. You could always discard the motor core if it stops working and/or put something else with a sound or rattle to entice your dog’s play time. Just an idea!

Great toy, but a high price. August 16, 2025 Color: BlueAmazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? ) Nugget immediately took to this ball. It can roll quietly around, or start vigorously bouncing. It works well on both carpet and vinyl. One of the major plusses of this ball is the solid composition. It will hold up to years of gnawing, yet it is still soft enough for the pups to get a grip on it to carry around. The ball comes with a charging cable and a carry bag, but I have yet to convince Nug to put it back in the bag when she is done playing. The ball is easy to clean, with just a damp rag. If your dog is a super chewer, the company says that there are replacement covers available.

My only complaint is that the toy is expensive. There is a base price of $42, and about 15% off with a coupon, which brings it to $34. Yes, it is a fine toy, and durable, but in my opinion, awfully expensive.

Crazy mode! Fun gift for a new puppy August 7, 2025 Color: BlueAmazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? ) Such a fun toy for the pup. It has three modes with one being crazy! The ball says that it jumps but it just vibrates, so it does better on a hard floor but my dog prefers to play on carpet. But it continues to entice her to play which is a nice feature. Battery life is okay but it is rechargeable, so if I can find it I just plug it in before we go to bed. It unscrews to reveal the charging port which is also how you change modes. The dog cannot unscrew the ball and the soft rubberized foam is light but withstands her play. She is not one to sit and chew round toys, so I would not be one to test its durability for strong chewers but the foam is fairly thick so I think it would do well. Fun gift for new puppy.

Mixed review from my Yorkie August 23, 2025 Color: BlueAmazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? ) My Yorkie gives this mixed reviews. He is a high energy little guy and loves to play. His first interaction with the toy was with it turned off. He played with it for a while and eventually lost interest. The next time, I turned it on and when it bounced, he kind of looked at it and walked away. Not sure why he lost interest so quickly. The other thing is that you have to open the ball to turn it on and off. It's hard to believe that there wouldn't be a way to push on it to turn it on/off. It would be such a better design to not have to open it to turn on/off.

Happy Fun Ball for Dogs August 1, 2025 Color: BlueAmazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? ) Schitec's automated dog toy is a winner out of the box. Here's what you get--a small blue (or red) ball about the size of a baseball that is covered in dense, tough foam. You unscrew the two halves of the ball to reveal a small gyroscope device inside. When the device is turned on and the ball screwed back together, the inside device makes the ball move on its own. It doesn't move a lot and works best on a hardwood floor surface. But it does move on its own.

Most important, my doggo LOVES it, and I mean from the moment I put it on the group. She's enthralled by the movement and it entertained her for a good 5-10 minutes right out of the box, until I put it away. The inside motor is rechargeable and comes with a cable.

It's built solid and we'll see how long it takes her to chew off the foam, but so far, so good!.

Both of my dogs love it! August 4, 2025 Color: RedAmazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? ) The only downside to this ball is that both of my dogs are now fighting over it. Because of the sound and movement, they each want an opportunity to “kill” it.

My dogs are Bichon/Yorkie (female) and Yorkie/Maltese (male). They are both under 20 lbs, which I know this is not recommended for smaller dogs. However, this ball is the perfect size for them. They can just barely pick it up in their mouths without fear of it getting lodged in their throat.

At the time of this review, it is listed at $42, which I think is pretty steep. Had I not gotten a chance to try it out for free, I probably would have never purchased this. However, with that being said, it does seem to be made quite sturdy. It was ready to go right out of the box, and my dogs have been playing with it for over an hour now. It’s got a thick rubber exterior, and although they both have been trying to chew it, it is still standing. (Which is more than I can say for some of the cheaper, harder plastic ones we have purchased in the past. They were also a lot smaller, and I was concerned that they could swallow it.) Although I generally watched them when they play, I can feel confident, knowing that they’re not going to bust their teeth, trying to chew it, or swallow it because of its size. So I guess what I’m saying is if you have the money to spend, this would be the ball to buy.

Crazy sure August 10, 2025 Color: BlueAmazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? ) This thing could drive one or both of you to madness! One of my dogs, a Belgian Mali will destroy it with little due...my other one Cattle dog that is very chill...I know...what?.. he will watch it & is very skeptical that it is a toy...it could be trouble in disguise! it's a 2 piece screw together hard inner shell with a softer rubber, maybe an inch thick over it, the motor lives inside & as long as your hanging & enjoying a play break it's fun for sure...a little expensive..but the dogs love it..

This ball is a lot of fun! August 6, 2025 Color: BlueAmazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? ) This ball is a blast! The instructions are very easy to understand, and everything needed was in the box. We gave it a full charge and tried it out right away. The ball half’s unscrew and the ball and ball motor have squares and circles that match up to make the ball work properly. The outside is soft, and he liked carrying it in his mouth. As suggested, we started with the "gentle mode" until our dog was comfortable with the ball. We switched to "normal mode" which he really liked and then tried "crazy mode". "Crazy" scared him at first when the ball vibrated in his mouth, but he quickly learned how to play with it. After 10 minutes he was worn out from chasing it around. He really likes it because when we put it away to give him a rest, he sat there looking at it and whining. This definitely a great ball for dogs to play with and burn some energy!

UPDATE: Our dog loves this Ball. Once he got over it vibrating in his mouth, he now chases it around the house until he is worn out. When not playing with it, we take it away from him because we don't want him to use it as a chew toy and damage the soft foam exterior.

Safe, easy to use, kept our large dog entertained August 8, 2025 Color: RedAmazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? ) My first concern with any mechanical or electronic toy is feeling confident our dog can’t get at pieces that could harm her.

To make this ball truly dog-proof requires sealing the power button and USB-C charging port deep inside the soft chew able outside of the ball. I like the solution of two halves that require full hand motion to screw together snugly – I can’t imagine my dog (however ingenious she may be) to figure out how to open this toy up (I know, famous last words).

I like the single button control you hold for two secs to power on/off and press briefly to toggle the three modes. I tested it in “normal” mode in which the ball “moves and jumps”. I set the ball down in our living room close to the dining table and other obstructions to see how the ball (and dog) would react.

Our yellow lab has seen (and made small work of) her share of toys. At thirteen, she’s still in good shape, with plenty of energy. But she’s a little jaded when it comes to toys and it now takes something special to coax her off her favorite lounge chair.

As I hope the video shows, this ball got her attention quickly and held it – a real accomplishment!

Comes with a short USB to USB-C charging cable.

There is a warm up period! August 5, 2025 Color: BlueAmazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? ) There was a learning curve for this for both me and my dog. When I first opened it I didn't see that: 1. it unscrewed, 2. the charging port, 3. the button, 4. how to work the controls. Granted I opened it at almost midnight so some of that could have just been a tired brain. And at first my doggo was terrified of it. We played with it a couple of times last night and today and now she will search it out when I ask, "where is your ball?"

Of course, the ball works best on a low pile rug or hard floor but she keeps bringing it back to the high pile rug. Maybe because that is where we typically play, or maybe because she has better control.

My dog is right at the cusp of medium and large. We got medium and I'm very glad I did, it isn't too heavy and just the right size for her mouth.

My dog thinks it’s alive and now we both sleep better August 8, 2025 Color: BlueAmazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? ) Click to play video This ball is like a squirrel and a Roomba having a baby. My energetic German Shepherd went from bouncing off the walls to chasing it like it owed him money. It vibrates, rolls, and randomly changes direction basically like a dog without the side effects.

Plus, it's durable. After two days of gnawing, chewing, and big WWE losses, it's still rolling strong. It holds its charge well and isn't too noisy indoors (unless you're trying to take a nap, in which case it's practically a soundtrack

If your dog has a meltdown at 3 a.m., this ball could save your sanity. Highly recommended for medium and large dogs with too much energy and not enough Netflix.

Hours of fun! August 9, 2025 Color: RedAmazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? ) Click to play video My dog loves this! We’ve gotten her so many toys and she rarely plays with any of them. This is the first one that she’s really played with on her own. I thought she might be scared of it but she immediately started playing. She was obsessed with it for hours. This is an awesome idea for dogs who needs some excitement to be entertained. Highly recommend!

My dog loves it August 8, 2025 Color: BlueAmazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? ) Click to play video My 14 lb shihtzu absolutely loves this ball. I literally have to take it from him so that he can eat. The ball itself is the size of a tennis ball, it’s got a component inside that charges which makes it moves and vibrate. The dog loves it.
