Their first goal with a new toy is almost always to tear pieces off it. Nothing lasts long at all except the super hard toys that they don't like or play with.
But these are amazing! I bought a few of these, not expecting them to last, but it's been over a month and every one is still intact! Not only that, but my dogs have rediscovered their love of chasing balls. Don't get me wrong, they haven't given up trying to destroy them, but because they aren't able to very easily, they've lasted long enough for the dogs to notice that they have a perfect size, weight, and bounce for a different kind of play. Now they bring me the balls to throw instead of defaulting to chewing immediately. These have become their favorite toys ever. They love to make them squeak. They love to chase them and throw them around until they get tired, then they chew on them for awhile. They even manage to play tug with them somehow, and they've remained intact so far.The balls seem to be all one piece instead of having a separate 'plug' piece like others I've tried, which means there are no weak spots for the dogs to focus on when chewing. If a toy has that plug piece, I know it'll be toast within a day. Finally, a toy that makes my dogs AND me happy.
ETA ... Just looked closer, and the plug piece is there, but it's well integrated with the rest of the ball and doesn't provide an obvious place for them to focus when seeking to destroy lol.
Edited a few months later... Ok, they're not indestructible lol, but they're still my dogs' favorites, and they last longer than anything else I've gotten them. At any one time we have 4 or 5 of these balls that are intact in the house and/or yard. I've only had to replace them at a rate of about 1 per 1.5 to 2 months, which is amazingly slow turnover for this bunch! Still love these.

It does have a slight smell but it's not beef. My other dog doesn't want to play with it either. It feels thick, does bounce and squeaks. The squeak does get my dogs attention but he doesn't play with it.

I went searching for a ball that could work for our puppy and found this one. It is the new design. Our puppy fell in love with this toy and would not let it leave her side for two days straight. She even brought it to bed with her. This toy is STRONG. It took her about an hour of play to figure out she needed to use more strength than she normally does. Once she got things figured out she was in doggy heaven. She LOVED that she could "squeak" the toy, but that it did not break apart the way others did. She continuously will bring the ball to us to show off how great it works.We are now two weeks in and the ball is in PERFECT condition! That right there makes this ball worth the money. We will probably end up getting a second one to have one at each house, since she is the family dog and has several houses she moves between.
If your dog does not have a strong jaw, do not get this toy. It will not make your puppy happy. Most likely your dog can play with the standard Kong toy with the regular plastic/silicone material and they will not have the issues I am talking about. This toy is for dogs who basically go through a "standard" Kong style toy in about an hour. Those type of toys are then choking hazards for our dogs.

Both are extremely aggressive chewers, especially the lab/GS mix. They 'kill' a lot of toys. I always say their mission in life is to eat toys. And they have destroyed many! In fact, it's hard to find toys that last more than a couple of days, if even that. This ball seems really rugged. When given their choice of toys to play with, this is the favorite of both dogs. Whoever doesn't have it sits and waits for their opportunity to grab it as soon as their 'sister' puts it down. I recently ordered a second one so they can both have one. Now, my lab/GS mix did kill the squeaker but that's not unusual. That happens to many squeaky toys. But regardless, they still love to chew on this.
