The previous bed we were using was not rated for outdoor use so I was worried about mold, and decided on this one as a proactive replacement. We have another brand of waterproof bed that we use in his crate that has lasted years, but it’s more than $200, so we wanted something more cost effective.
My dog loved this bed and took to it immediately. 15 minutes after I set it on the deck for him, I checked back and found a 4 inch hole in the corner that tore through both the cover and the waterproof lining. My dog doesn’t normally chew up his beds but I must have tempted fate by accidentally leaving the fabric tag on it. I blame myself for that but I don’t think ripping off a fabric tag should tear the seam of both the cover and the lining. So from day 1 the bed was no longer waterproof. It sits primarily beneath a covered deck with only an inch or so potentially exposed to rain if the wind blows in a certain direction, so that wasn’t the end of the world.Two weeks later, there was a busted seam on the opposite end of the original hole, and more stuffing spilling out. It’s not so stuffed that my dog laying on it would have busted the seams — it’s actually super flat now in the center where he sleeps — so this just reeks of poor craftsmanship. I’ve had it for a little more than a month now and it’s basically in tatters now, just from regular use. Spring for something better if you can afford it, you’ll save more in the long run.

The stuffing is so balled up in some spots and non-existent in others that he is basically laying on the hard floor underneath in those areas. One positive I will mention, however, is the cover. I love the black & white stripes, and it seems very thick and durable. Plus the zipper that runs the full length of the long side makes the cover easy to remove and clean. I love the fact that it has held up, and I can hardly see any wear on it. My dog loves to 'dig a bed' and every time she goes to lie down on this she starts digging. Second thing to note is that my dog is old and sometimes she 'leaks' a little. A small amount, but still the bed will have wet spots. When I look inside, the inner mattress is completely dry. I gave it 4 stars for cleaning mainly because the inner fill is not something you want to mess with. Washing the outer cover is a snap - I wash it about twice a month due to her leaking. I throw it in the wash + dry, take it out and put it back on. It has not lost any of its color or waterproof feature. I tried to wash the inner cover once, but getting that 'stuff' out and back in is a royal pain. I think I would prefer a solid foam mattress, but then would she? It probably would not be so comfy.If I ever have to replace this bed, I will buy the same one. It is the best bed I have ever bought her and it was not expensive.

The material is a bit canvas-y, like a outdoor materials so it’s a little bit rough. But it stands up to dozens of machine washing and dog play and traveling in cars multiple states. After about four months and a couple machine washes it did fade a bit in color but the stitching and the seams and the zipper are all still wonderful.
The negative. The plush cushion filling flattened out very fast.I ended up stuffing old dog beds from the past inside the same cover to keep some of the padding. I recently bought a huge memory foam and cut it to the same shape to fit inside the same bed cover because I love the color and the shape/size is ideal but it just was way too flat for my big hound.
If they would’ve offered more padding inserts, I probably would’ve bought four or five of them by now.

This navy and white striped bed arrived quickly, and when I removed it out of the tiny box…it was highly compressed. I was absolutely flabbergasted as it was at least 12” high in the center and 8” high on the sides. Yes I tried to flatten it out..to no avail. Just an FYI is is supposed to be 4” high per the details.Well our dog couldn’t even get on it. She hated it, and we were not impressed..plus having to get it back in the box which was half the size it should be.
Finally it is repacked and waiting outside for UPS to pick it up. Cannot recommend this item.

Bed Contains Toxic Materials!!!!! I look to see around the time I bought the bed and when her issues started, and it was about a month after. And just to add, My bull dog (who now has passed, about a month ago, due to Lung Tumors), he started declining in health about 1 month after we purchased the bed too. Not 100% pointing my finger, but it is a big possibility.I googled Polyester Fiberfill, and this is what it said:
"Polyfill, or polyester fiberfill, is a petroleum-based, nonrenewable resource that is energy intensive and contains toxic chemicals. ... The main chemical in polyester is ethylene glycol, which is absorbed by the body through inhalation and skin contact and has been linked to kidney and central nervous system problems"
DO YOUR HOMEWORK PEOPLE. There are SO MANY toxins around us and we are just swimming in them.

Once unpacked they lofted up and got fluffy, but there is no heft to them. My experience is telling me that in a month or two, these will be flat and without loft. Neither of my 2 Chihuahuas were able to climb on top of it to use it. I almost returned it, but then I realized I could just remove some of the stuffing.
