I went with the 52" as the description stated that the bedding area itself was around 36x40 inches. I could've gone a size smaller, but I'm actually very impressed with the size for the price. The materials also seem to be of good quality and the need looks great in our home. Most importantly, or dog absolutely loves it! Normally he's restless, takes him awhile to get comfortable, he does a lot of digging/fluffing of his bedding and repeats the process numerous times a night. Not so with this bed. From the moment we got it, he just lays there and chills. Completely calm, completely comfortable. Even when he's not sleeping he just loves to lay on it. He's a high energy German Shorthair and this is generally not the case. I was worried about how the sherpa cover would hold up to his digging. I honestly don't know, because he hasn't even tried. I'm so happy and oppressed with this product right now and so is he. It's totally worth every penny. It fluffed up right away out of the box and has super thick cushioning without having to wait for days for it to fill out. Turn key right out of the box. Will definitely be purchasing. I always think "my dog loves just sleeping on a towel, will he really care if I spend more on a "quality" bed". I finally decided I'd do all the research on pricey beds- form memory foam, to special zippable/washable wraps around waterproofing, I checked it all up to the $200 range. I wanted something soft, supportive, attractive, and priced reasonably for quality. I ended up getting this bed because it really seemed to still be on the cheaper side of beds, and gave me a big bed for the money. When I received it, I was AMAZED!!!! This bed is SO soft, and firmly stuffed so the bed won't go flat, looks beautiful, and my dogs LOVE IT!!! I was shocked to see how much they actually enjoy this bed and are in it all the time. They LOVE the doughnut edge so they can flop over on their backs but still be nestled in the comfy side. They also love to push toys into the crack on the side and dig for it, and the bed doesn't show a scratch or tear.

I have a bassett hound and a sheltie, and I ordered the large size bed and they have a good amount of extra room (but they love it like that). Anyone with a bassett knows that the bed is really hers, so I'm ordering a second one for my sheltie. :)

Big Dog?....Just do it. January 12, 2014 Size: 52 inColor: BlueVerified Purchase This this is HUGE and so is my puppy. .. he loved it from the first moment it landed on the floor. It is pretty well compressed in packaging so it pops up like a life raft, which was really fun for us both to Watch. His eyes got SOOO big. When I told him it was his new bed, he bounced right over to it, into it, and did the funniest happy dance a newly adopted stray puppy could do. It is not super padded on the bottom but it is good enough. It is so soft yet the sides are staying up really well, so far and he isn't easy with it. My 7month old pup is a German Shepherd/ Golden cross and weighs about 55lbs (so far) so I wanted HUGE bed for him ( he wanted a bed so bad. .. All I had around here merely fit his head) and this one is large enough that He Has plenty of room for himself and toys. Actually, I am 5'5" 155lbs and I fit nicely in it with room to spare on both sides of me, and only my lower calves and feet are out of it. Only downfall is that I couldn't find a light color one and he is shedding yellow hair so it looks messy by the end of the day.. I need to vacuum it at least once a day...but I DID find a zipper tucked away on bottom on the inside of the outer wall cushion roll so I can toss it into the washer. Overall I would and probably will buy another one... Good quality, soft, tough material. Got a Big Dog. .. Just do it, it's worth the money if you have the room for it.

Good but difficult to wash January 15, 2023 Size: 40 inColor: RedVerified Purchase Decent size, bolsters hold up ok- minor sagging. Fits in a 42” crate perfectly. Fits a 30# and 40# dog together perfectly, 3 40# dogs are a tight fit and surprisingly my 85# and 30# fit in it nicely. My 130# newf tries to fit into it! Lol This is very tough to wash. I can make it fit into my washer but it really doesn’t get clean 😩 Sometimes one portion doesn’t even get wet. I usually have to fold the bolsters in the other direction and wash twice. Dries nicely- put in dryer then hang to finish. To help keep it clean I line with a potty pad and keep a sheet or blanket on top. I have 4 of these with the Sherpa lining. The Sherpa does not hold up. Two of them have wear spots, one I have had to sew up as the stuffing was coming out. I have since realized they come with the same lining as the bolster portion so will only be getting those in the future. Best Dog Bed EVER! April 15, 2018 Size: 40 inColor: KhakiVerified Purchase Moy dogs LOVE this bed (& so do I) My 93+ lb American Bulldog spends a lot of time in this bed (when my 7 lb Dachshund mix allows it) even though they both got brand new beds, this is the bed of choice. To give you an example of how specious it is, my 63 lb 7 year old son likes to join them to snuggle as well. It is very sturdy and very well built with quality materials that I feel will last for a long long time. I have washed and dried it twice now and it comes out like brand new each time. It is all one piece with no removable pads or covers so I would definitely recommend going to the laundromat and using the commercial machines (in my opinion it is worth the trouble) I have had countless dog beds of all types and styles and this is by far my favorite. I was never happy with taking the cover off (wrestling match) to wash it and then have to put my fresh clean cover back on a stinky funky pillow/stuffing. I have a large dog crate that is 42 x 27 inches and the fit is perfect. Roxy and I are both growing old and fat together lol so having the pillow around the sides (which is very nice and sturdy and keeps its shape) is very comfy to crop her head up on. Initially I was concerned that this would just not quite be large enough and was debating on the 52 in instead. Turns out this one is perfect, me and Roxy (& Lola) are thrilled with it and would very highly recommended it. I usually replace her bed two or three times a year but I feel like this one will be around for a lot longer because it is so sturdy and washes so well.

.... 8 months later and this dog bed is still going strong! This is the longest I have ever had a dog bed without it being completely gross or destroyed and it is still in excellent condition and has been washed and dried many many many times. A real winner!!!!

Purchased in April 2018, is now Feb 2020 & still loving this dog bed. Been washing & drying it regularly & no matter how funky & gross it is going into the laundromat, it always comes out like new.

It's a great size for her (she is 22 lbs) and she snuggles right in. She prefers it to the couch (which was part of the goal). It took a couple days for it to flatten out, which made sleeping a little comical...she looked like she was in a listing boat:) It has been easy to clean. This is a great dog bed and I've since bought another for her.

Update: A year later and this bed is clearly number one with both of our dogs. We have several of the small size and one of the medium sized beds (fits in the kennel better), which both dogs fit into (22 lb beagle & 18 lbs terrier mix). They pick these beds over the ones I've purchased at Costco everytime. The canvas fabric is great - it's sturdy and holds up well, but is still comfortable and when combined with the fleece lining makes a cozy place for the dogs to curl up.

They have held up and worn very well. I throw them into the washing machine once every week or so on a sanitize cycle and have had no issues with the stuffing becoming lumpy or uncomfortable. They have held their shape remarkably well. Owning a beagle who thinks rolling in poo or dead stinky things is the best treat ever, I really appreciate how easy these beds are to keep clean - they don't smell or look disgusting, which any dog owner knows is a big plus! They are also great on road trips! We throw them in the cargo space and both dogs end up with a cozy nook and they snuggle up and sleep the whole trip.

Lucy loves this bed. She loves to nap and hang out in it, especially because of the bolsters; as evidenced in the picture. Lucy loves that they’re like little built in pillows. I think she would give this bed a solid 4/5 stars.

Unfortunately this bed is not very sturdy and not as fluffy as I think we would both like. You can see in the picture that it flattens out when she naps in it, which defeats the purpose. She lays in it in awkward positions because it all just flattens out anyway. It’s definitely the right size for her though, so I don’t think it’s a size issue. It’s also not washable, as the cover is not removable, and Lucy’s fur sticks to it and becomes hard to vacuum off. Lucy is half corgi so she sheds a lot and I have to constantly try to find ways to vacuum it so it stays clean since we can’t wash it. We’ve had this bed since late October and it already is worn and needing to be replaced, as well as starting to tear from her trying to make it not so lumpy in the middle. All in all, it looks fluffy and inviting until she tries to get it and then it’s obvious that it’s not well filled. I’ve now moved this bed to be on top of a flat orthopedic bed to give it some support, which lowers Lucy’s 4 to a 3 star rating.

It makes no noise on the faux wool side, but can make noise on the other side that is a different material. We use the warmer side during winter, and flip it over in the warmer weather. Does not fit in the washer, I knew this when I bought it. We just take it to the laundry mat, or use a pet cleaning tool like a carpet cleaner in between. Mostly we keep it covered with a sheet or warm blanket. Very thick and hasn't flattened over time, it has maintained its shape. So comfortable for the dogs, they love the edges to rest their heads on, or curling up inside it. We got the biggest one as we have 100 pound german shepherds and they fit in it very well.

She fits in the bed nicely and there is still some room left over, maybe enough for a 15 lb dog to be in there with her if they both like to cuddle close. It definitely seems smaller than advertised since my dog lays in this bed curled up and takes up most of the supposed 40" which is fine for us, but may be a problem for others. I believe one of the other reviewers gave some measurements. My dog loves to snuggle up against things so she definitely LOVES the bolster. She will even willingly leave the couch to get into this bed sometimes, which is one of the reasons I got it in the first place (to get her off the furniture). She went to it immediately when I put this bed next to the chair, so I took that as a sign she likes it. On the other hand, I am already regretting the lack of flexibility in cleaning this bed. I probably missed this in the description, but the interior of the bed is some sort of imitation sheepswool or something. In other words, everything that can stick to this bed will stick to this bed and be impossible to vacuum out. We've had it for 5 days and have already been on my hands and knees picking pieces of bully stick out of the fur. Not my favorite pastime. My washer is definitely not large enough to wash the whole bed, not that I would want to unleash that type of debris on my washing machine, so you would probably want to take this to a laundromat. For me that's a pain in the butt, it may not be a drawback for others. The price is incredible, about half the price of other beds I considered, and my dog does love this bed, so I consider it a good buy. The sherpa fabric on the inner part is okay but it's filthy and the bed is so big I can't clean it in the washer. My dog has a thing with beds. So you want customer service! Forgetaboutit with this company August 21, 2012 Size: 52 inColor: KhakiVerified Purchase I ordered this product with "expedited shipping" which cost $27.00, the company did expedite the shipping after two days but they expedited it to the wrong address in the wrong state. When I asked them what they are going to do about this they told me they would send out another item and I would receive it in 7-10 days after shipping, "it should go out pretty soon, we have them in our warehouse". They did not care that I paid for expedited shipping and did not offer to expedite the new order or refund my money for the error. I had to bring this to their attention, obviously they were not going to do anything nor did it seem awkward for them to dismiss the extra money I had paid to receive my item early. So I had to get rather nasty and finally I got my expedited shipping fee back. Then I asked, when is my order going to be delivered? I was told, it will go out Thursday, "they are in the warehouse". Friday I emailed for a tracking number (they did not send one to me as they stated they would) and they stated, oh, this item has not shipped, it should ship today. Ok I give up no one knows what is going on! I get home on Friday, and my stars!!! Two boxes are on my doorstep! Both are Bagel beds from the same company, you guessed it, they duplicate shipped. So after all the hassle I went through and the total lack of customer service I had received and the fact that it took over 10 emails to get answers to one question and never two (they cannot answer more than one question it seems). I saw this as an opportunity for this company to do something to show they cared about the customer. I emailed them and let them know I received two beds, my three dogs did love it and asked if I could keep the extra bed for all the hassle they put me through. The response was, "I need to ask the warehouse and I'll get back to you". That was on Friday, on Monday, I had received no information so I sent an email to them in the afternoon. Of course, I was not surprised when they stated, "we want it back and will issue a fed ex pick up tag for Tuesday". It seems they know how to expedite when THEY want something in a timely manner but to heck with the customer. So bottom line, this company had the opportunity to say, "with all the hassle, just keep it for all you have been through", but nope..I suppose if I had never let them know I had two it would be no big deal but my integrity is worth more then a dog bed. This company on the other hand....they have proven they have no integrity and will rip you off for $27.00 shipping. Loved by my goldens August 14, 2022 Size: 40 inColor: BlueVerified Purchase I bought two of the 40" beds 9 years ago and they have held up exceptionally well. So I give it high marks on durability. They are also super soft and provide some coziness with the raised sides. The separate insert for the edges makes it nice for dogs to rest their heads if they are so inclined. Both my adult goldens have loved them. After losing my older golden last year, I got a new golden puppy and she seems to love it too, even though right now she is swallowed up by it.

My one caution - and the reason for only 4 stars - is that it is a real hassle to put the covers back on after washing. It may be easier for smaller beds, but if you consider one of the larger ones, be aware that wrestling the main cover back on is a pain. Luckily, I don't wash them often, so I struggle with this problem only sporadically, such as when the puppy peed on one this week!

It is just large enough for 2 of them to curl up, spooning, in it. This is their first choice of a bed and one of the three is always in this bed when they are lying down. It has stayed fluffy for the 4ish months I have had it and my dogs can be pretty rough on things. I would have given this dog bed 5 stars if I could take the cover off and wash it. As it is I have added an extra blanket on top of it to keep it cleaner but am soon going to have to find a way to wash the whole bed. The dark outer ring still looks clean but the light colored fabric in the center is getting a little dingy. It doesn't seem to be a hair collector which is nice. I think the reason my dogs like this bed over the others is the donut style. They like to curl up and snuggle and this bed is better for that than a flat dog bed. If I get another bed like this I might try a size smaller so when one of my dogs curls up they just fit right in the middle. This 40" size they can stretch out and still be in the bed so it is a good size as is and the next size down may be too small.

After a week now the inner has come down a bit from her laying in it and now resembles more of a bed then an over stuffed pillow and is still plenty soft. I got the XXL 52 in one for my 70lb golden. She's roughly 40 inches from snout to base of tail, this bed allows plenty of room for her to spread out if she wanted to or curl up. If any indication of sizes the XL would be good for the same size dog if your worries about floor space. Only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because the liner doesn't come out to make washing easier. Overfilled. October 17, 2021 Size: 24 inColor: GreenVerified Purchase These are great durable dog beds but over the years, the manufacturer has been going overboard with the polyester stuffing. If your pup is under 10 pounds, it barely has enough weight to compress the filling, & the bed kind of rocks around as little Fido finds the right spot to settle down. Instead of being snuggled in with the sides up around him, my dog was lying at about the same height as the top of the sides. Not cozy. I actually cut a 6” slit in the bottom & removed about half of the filling so the bolster sides now sit higher than the center bed portion. Repair the slit with a piece of fabric tape, & you’ve got a Bagel Bed that doesn’t rock & roll as your pet climbs in, & when he settles down, he’ll be down below the bolsters in his cozy nest. Even with this extra work, I still like the Majestic brand & feel the materials are better than most other beds in this price range. This time around we have had less of an issue. He is grown and both him and our other dog who is a pitt can both fit into it. He is large in size. Wouldnt say xlarge but large and our other down is medium build. I feel you could probably fit 6 small dogs in it, probably 3 medium size dogs.

Only downfall is the fact this thing does not have a zipper. If i was handy enough and had a sowing machine, I feel adding one would definitely be worth it

My other 3 dogs (2 medium and 1 small) love it and cuddle up in it together. I bought the extra large 52" bed. I order to keep it clean, I have covered it up with a canvas painters sheet, which I bought at the paint section at Lowes. I just wrapped it around the bed loosely and tucked it under the bed. It has a similar color as the bed and I can wash it. Update: 5 days later, and my "bad hip dog" also loves this bed. I'll keep the 4-star rating, because the cover cannot be removed. However, the painters canvas stays on it nicely. I'm glad I bought it. Update, November 2011 The DREADED THING happened and one of my dogs peed in it. (I just wish I knew which one!) The canvas only protected the bed against dog hair and dirt, but was not waterproof. I just knew the carpet underneath it would be soaked, too. But to my surprise, even though one corner of the bed was soaked, the carpet was dry. So the bottom of the bed seems to be waterproof. love the walls, less than impressed with stuffing May 30, 2023 Size: 40 inColor: KhakiVerified Purchase my dog is an active sleeper and at 75lbs was doing some damage to our sofa so I invested in this bed - straight out of the box, I was surprised at how little filling was in the actual bed portion, especially compared to the sides. however, she loved it, so I wasn't too concerned. two months in, though, the bed portion is essentially flat - and now my dog won't use it unless i have fluffed it out first (can't blame her as it is no better than laying on the floor) as someone who has made things with polyfill, I know it often deflates but at the price point for this product I am extremely disappointed that there wasn't more polyfill originally or that the poly wasn't supplemented with shredded foam or something similar.

that said - color and durability of fabric are perfect, and the walls are perfect. the design is, overall, a fantastic one but the lack of filling makes the price feel inflated.

We've had it for right at two months so far and it seems to be holding up relatively well. Now, we have two dogs - both right around 60+ pounds and two cats.

One cat will not step on ANY of the beds and will go out of her way around them, and nothing unusual she stays away from this bed also. Now, we have an older female dog, Sabrina (13-ish), that now makes a beeline for the bed and lays on it whenever is possible, at least until our younger male dog, Rascal (9), decides to stand beside her and stare at her until she huffs and moves somewhere else. : ) Of course,if our other cat, Freckles (11-ish) is on the bed... she doesn't move and she doesn't share.

So, needless to say, the bed is a big hit in the house with all but one of the animals and will probably be investing in another couple in the future to put them in other parts of the house and so both dogs have a new bed to lie on.

The Maltese thinks he's King of the World when he's in it. I'm no expert, but I'd say you could put about 15 Maltese dogs in it!

The color, the construction, the fabric, just everything about this bed has all paws up in our house!

UPDATE: Still the BEST doggie bed in the house! Winnie prefers this bed to her $120 LLBean bed.
Washing: We went to the LaundroMat to use the heavy duty washing machine. The thing came out really fluffy and after re-shaping it, it's as good as new. This bed is so durable, and the proof of enjoyment is it's what Winnie prefers.

JJ is about 11 years old and loves to lay her head on pillows and tuck her nose under pillows and in the creases of the couch. This bed allows for both. She curls right up in it and she looks quite comfortable.

The outside color blue is very nice. However, the inside bottom she lays on is not a dark color (off white) and shows the black dog hair left behind. It's been a few weeks and she really enjoys it and it is holding up nicely so far.

I also posted a collage picture so you can see how she loves it. I would recommend this for your dog if they like to lay on pillows.

The shipping did take 10 days from date of order on 12/16 to receipt date on 12/26 even though I have Prime Membership (should have received in 2 days). So if you are getting as a gift, be aware of this.

As long as it’s against a wall for extra support he loves it. It has a lot of filling- can plop in it without hurting dogs elbows. For the less positives: I would describe it as lumpy more than fluffy. It has plenty of cushion it’s just not evenly dispersed. Not washable in a residential machine. I have a large drum and I could get it to fit in, but it couldn’t spin. It ended up just being soaked on one side. Not any cleaner and couldn’t dry it I ended up setting it on some fans to dry the soaked spots. The interior material catches all dirt and debris. It doesn’t vacuum well either. Maybe if you have the smaller bed it would wash better, I don’t think it would wash the debris out of the center material though. One person found this helpful

Looks promising though -- material looks like strong canvas. Strongly recommend.

Plenty of cousin on sides and bottom. It’s goes by my bed normally in a rectangle but out of the corner it makes more of a circle shape. My 12 week old Great Dane loves it. She loves having the sides to curl up against. It is to big for the washer but what I’m going to do is cut the bottom in a slit then sew a zipper on it. If you pull the stuffing out of just the bottom it will fit in the washer. You can then tie the stuffing in a pillow case and wash that separately. If you do that then you’ve fixed the one thing that’s a negative about this product and you have the worlds best dog bed. The puppy gets after it pretty good and has not ripped it yet. If left alone with it I am sure she would. There are a few negative reviews about the batting breaking down, but I would just remind those people to think of it like the 20 year old nastiness they are sleeping on. Does it look like it did when you bought it? It is fiber and it will break down. Also the cover is not washable so guess what? It will stink after a while. Shampoo it and set outside to dry. Unfortunately this bed doesn’t have a slip cover that can be removed and tossed in the wash. If you want to wash this bed, you either need to visit a laundry mat and throw the entire thing in, or hand wash outside with a garden hose and let it dry in the sun.

However let me emphasize on the positive aspects of this bed. From the moment I unwrapped it from the box, my female pittie loved it. It’s pretty deep, and I love the raised sides that act as a pillow for your pet’s head. She’s snug as a bug, and most days I have to wake her up to get her out if this bed! She can easily stretch out and have plenty of room to comfortably lay. I would definitely purchase this bed again, and think for the price point you can’t beat the quality.

I like the cushion in the bed, it is soft and evenly distributed. I have not needed to wash the bed (thank goodness), so not able to rate washability. The color is neutral which is nice. My puppy is not 100% sold My puppy would prefer to lay on the ground next to it. But all in all, very happy with the purchase and would recommend to try.

Yes, it isn't as supportive as some other reviewers have pointed out. The center is super soft, the exterior--what forms the bagel--is the key & has moderate support. It keeps the doggy snug inside and acts like a pillow under their chin.

On occasion, the beagles body will partially fall out--but it doesn't bother her. She's chunky so that's life--I just care she's happy and comfortable. My two other dogs covet the bed too, and I'll find then sleeping in it now & then. I guess that means I'll be replacing all the pet beds around the house with bagel beds soon.

The navy color is great & so far there's nothing tempting to chew on it for any of my dogs (usually they'll nibble on a corner of a traditional bed, but the bagel is rounded and has flat seams. I think the construction is impressive. As my beagle ages, she may need more support than this bed provides--but for now, she absolutely loves it. And I love that she loves it :)

But I think I can spray it with some fabric refresher every once in a while and toss it in the dryer. Had to hold pressure on it to keep him from bleeding out while we rushed him to our vet, where Dr. Lewis took him straight into surgery and had to finish amputating it. Since he got back from the vet, we've been keeping him inside ever since, and he needed a good soft bed to sleep in, especially while he is healing.

As well as a bed for our puppy alone. I bought a 52” size for our 85lb lab and 20lb puppy to share. And the 40” for the puppy alone but either would fit in it. After I fluffed the beds and put them on the floor they immediately jumped in together and fell asleep. This bed is incredibly comfortable! They can squish in the edge of the cushion or plop down in the middle. The high edges are great for dogs that like to partly hang in as well as out of beds or to just rest their heads. Either way I believe this will give them some pretty sweet doggie dreams! Will update on how it holds up to wear and tear (aka. major puppy teething/chewing) though I don’t question that this bed will last. Very happy with this purchase!!
