The dogs love how soft and cozy they are and they look nice in a room. We also take ours in the car for long roadtrips as well as the dogs seem to have a less stressful commute when they have their beds to settle down in. They are machine washable which is great. They do lose that soft and cozy part over time, but I feel like the amount of life you get out of them is typical for a dog bed getting daily use. We've bought them on 3 different occasions but always with roughly 2 years of use in between. We even keep the old/well loved beds after we replace with new and put in other areas of the house that the dogs may want to hang out in, like my husband's workshop and the basement and keep the nice/new ones in the living room to look good with the decor. I don't see any reason we would not buy these again in the future when it's time to replace, but don't expect to need again for another couple of years. Our dogs are 4 years old and 7 years old, small and medium breed. In my opinion, while this bed does have decent support, it does not provide a lot of extra/specific orthopedic support if you are looking for something firm for arthritis, etc. in an older dog. For that situation we wholeheartedly recommend a Bully Bed. It gave years of extra life and comfort to our basset hound. I was lucky that one of the beds won my cat’s favor, and there hasn’t been need of buying new beds in the past few years. To convince my cat to stop sneaking into my clean laundry tote and sleeping in it, I researched some beds that look warm and with taller walls so he might find the same sense of enclosure, and this bed caught my attention with the reasonable price and partially made in the US. The first couple hours he seemed to have more interests in the plastic wrapping…and now it has become his new favorite napping spot! The small size fits my 15 lb big boy just right. The bed itself is on the bulky side but capable of providing the cuddling feel to the pet, and all dimensions are true to the descriptions. Washing was ok in washer and dryer on low heat, I did have to air dry a bit after the drying cycle because the inner seam wasn’t fully dried (remember to flip the fluffy side out). The faux fur is not as full as in the product picture, I could easily see the black liner fabric underneath, but the fur seems sufficient to keep my cat warm. Another minor flaw is that the bed tilts if cat is sitting on one side or when he lays on the wall, as shown in the picture attached. I thought this might be due to the way the bed was seamed, the wall is elevated from the sleeping area without support underneath. But again, not a bother to my cat, not a problem to me. Padding and wall have good thickness to them. Also the bed doesn’t have strong chemical odor out of packaging, which was a sign to me of good quality. I still couldn’t believe such a great bed only costs this amount. I recommend this to all cat owners out there who are tired of buying beds that never got used. I personally have a Shetland sheepdog that’s about 20 pounds and his best friend is a mini Aussie ~25lbs (about the same stature and size) but the other two I purchased were for labs, 58 pounds and 80 pounds… and they all love & fit this same size. After all, that’s a lot of money if they don’t like the beds. But I bought one for the dog and one for the cat — though I wasn’t sure she (the cat) would care for it. But I had ordered one for the dog, and I try to do for them equally (just as I did for my boys when they were growing up).
She is a 12-pound picky little feline. He is a 17-pound cuddly canine who loves all things soft and fluffy. (Did I mention they are both rescues? Another reason to spoil them.) Most of the things I have bought for her (including her cat tree) are largely ignored. And when the dog’s bed arrived a few days ahead of hers, she showed zero interest in it. He was skeptical at first (not sure it was REALLY for him), but he quickly fell in love with his new day bed. (He sleeps with me at night.)The dog’s bed stays in my home office, as he is my constant shadow, and during this time of quarantine, I spend 8-10 hours a day in there, teaching from home. His bed sits next to my desk, and he usually heads there each morning as soon as he sees me fix my cup of coffee. He curls up and sleeps much more soundly than he did when I was laying a folded blanket there for him. Once hers arrived, I set it up in the den. They get along well (most of the time), but they like their space...so different rooms.
She ignored her bed entirely for a few days. Didn’t even sniff it (that I saw). And then one evening she very casually walked over to her bed (again, never having showed the least notice of the dog’s bed in the other room) and curled up in it like it was a natural thing. She doesn’t sleep there all the time, but I find her there at least once a day now.
The bottom of the bed is soft and conforms to and supports their bodies, and the high, rounded edge definitely seems to provide a measure of comfort and security. (The dog sometimes curls up inside the ring but also likes to hang his head over the side when he sleeps. The cat always curls up inside the ring.) I have washed the dog’s bed once (cold water, dry on low heat), and the texture of the “shag” changed ever so slightly — not quite as silky now, but nothing to diminish the appeal of the bed for him. She doesn’t use hers as heavily, so I have not washed hers yet. But given his tendency to go sleep in his at times I am not even in the office (remember he is my shadow) and her propensity for being finicky (and fickle!), I would say this is a big win on both counts.

Very disappointing.Everything was great about the calming bed bought this one based on reviews. I followed the instructions and put it in the dryer first on low setting for five minutes to fluff & activate fibers fir best results and when I took it out, it felt like it was almost on fire so hot, and I noticed it melted the fur & the pad. Did I do something wrong?
I'm certain it likely would've caught on fire if left in longer than five minutes. Any suggestions and sage advice would be greatly appreciated and if the seller Best Friends by Sherri chimed in.

Other reviews stated they liked the color they ordered, how fluffy it was, whether the bottom of it was thick enough, etc. My plan was to place this over my dog's old, flat, existing bed, on the tile flooring we have. So I am writing this review to Get To The Point to help you decide if this is the right bed for your own pet. Is it easy to clean? Well, since it just arrived today, I can't truthfully answer that, however, since it has a zippered, detachable cover, I can't see why it won't be easy to clean. Simply take it off & wash it in the machine. I CAN say the softness is, by far, more than I imagined. Durability, again, will take some time to determine, but after examining it, I can say all seams are secure & fabric/fur is of excellent quality. How about size for a full-grown German Shepherd? She fits perfectly with room to spare & as soon as I placed it where she sleeps, she went right to it and laid right in it. I say "IN it" because this "donut shape" has high edges around it & she loved placing her face/head right on the raised side. Her back bunts up to the other side circle of the bed, giving her nice cushioning. I placed my order on Jan. 4 & it arrived Jan. 7. The original price was $109.96. I got it on sale for $65.99. (With tax: $71.27). The bed looks just like the picture. (The picture with the big brown dog laying in the bed). If you need a new dog bed for a large breed dog, I highly recommend purchasing this one.

Snuggly Bed With A Few Caveats January 12, 2023 Color: Frost ShagSize: LargeVerified Purchase I read quite a number of reviews before buying these beds, so I pretty much knew what to expect. Our dogs love them, and they are quite snuggly, so I will be keeping both. I usually buy our dog beds at Home Goods, but it is quite difficult to find large donut beds that have a zip-off cover for washing.
The Best Friends beds are definitely understuffed and the material is VERY thin, but the positive is that it is EXTREMELY soft. I have photos of the bolsters and middle pillow where one can see the light shining through and how much stuffing is missing. There are 3 inserts for the 36" bed: two bolsters and one middle cushion. I ended-up buying cheap, $4 pillows from Target and using the stuffing from them to restuff the bed pillows and bolsters. A lot of work for a $65 bed, but they are much fluffier now!I bought the 36” size for both of our dogs: The “Shag Frost” for our 50 lb. English Bull Terrier and the “Lux Gray” for our 65 lb. Chesapeake Bay Retriever. To be specific, the "shag" is long, "eyelash" type fur, while the "lux" is short, "minky" type fur. We put the shag bed inside a 42” crate for our Bull Terrier, and it forms to the crate perfectly - it sits on top of a 3" thick fur crate pad. Both dogs can even fit into one bed! I have not yet washed the shag cover, and I’m hoping it doesn’t get matted like so many reviews mentioned. I will update this post once I wash it.
If you have a dog who likes to “nest” e.g., scratch up their beds to get them just right, be aware that they might put holes in the cover and inner cover. I have already mended a hole after just one week (the inner stuffing covers are paper-thin).
I’m still on the lookout for higher quality beds that hit all the marks: well-stuffed, durable fabric, zip-off cover, and not too much $$$. These will be just fine for now – hopefully we will get at least a year’s use out of them!

Cushions shed filling & bottom of shell not 'pee resistant' September 2, 2023 Color: Gray LuxSize: LargeVerified Purchase May 2025: 2 years of experience 2 beds, one from Amazon and the other from Chewy. Amazon May 2023, Chewy Sep 2023. PROS: *Shell material has held well but I have only washed a handful of times due to difficult reassembly. Our dog has several other fave 'beds' (our beds, couch, arm chair :-)) so she is not in her bed all the time. *Our dog loved the bed as a puppy and she still goes there to enjoy her most coveted treats and to chill. This bed was recommended by the breeder. I understood very quickly why, they love to snuggle up against something. *Sizing is great; Large went from puppy to fully grown 78lb retriever same bed.
CONS:*The cushion filling sheds A LOT. Filling everywhere when removed from shell to wash shell. It is also stuck inside the shell and even if you shake it before washing there will be filling in your washer and drier. (PLEASE NOTE: I have never put cushions in the washer. Instructions say not to wash. I saw some who purchased complained bed fell apart when cushion was washed.) One of the beds sprayed round bottom cushion lightly with water once to get pee stains off. The other bed's cushions never needed any rinsing yet they still shed filling like crazy.
*Bed from Amazon has two openings in bolster area which makes it a little easier to get the cushion back in after washing. Bed from Chewy (exact same brand, model, just different color) only has one opening and it is so tedious and difficult to get the bolster back in I will probably donate the bed unassembled after the next wash.
*Cushioning on the bottom is really thin and moves easily if you shake the bed clean you have to open the zipper to straighten the cushion.
Experience with bed from Amazon after 2 months (around Aug 2023; I started writing the review but apparently never posted it...): Loved this bed as did our 4 month old Golden until yesterday. Three stars for bed being as promised in description except: if there is an accident, pee drips right through on to the floor. The shell holds none. You have to wrap the bed in a towel to transport to shower or outside or where ever you handle wet messes. Then remove filling from a pee dripping bed hoping the fill has not gotten too soggy. Pee every where. Used garden hose to lightly spray cushion with water to remove what was on the surface. Let air dry over night. Shell did well with cold wash and low heat drier cycle.

I was hoping they would lay in it together, but they wont. They are both around 10-11#. I ordered medium ONLY because I read u could take the bed apart and wash it. However, apparently u are able to wash the outside (furry part) and not supposed to wash the fill that's in the bed. Well, my dog peed on the bed. Soaking the filling and all. So just washing the outside would do me no good. I figured if I ruin the filling by washing it, then so be it, because I'd have to throw the bed anyways because of the pee. So figured I had nothing to lose. I took the filling out of the sides and the bottom. It is sewn into 2 tubes basically for the sides then there is a sewn pad for the base of the bed. (Sewn in so the filling isnt just shoved in there loosely). They come out very easy by unzipping 2 different compartments. I threw them in the washer on gentle, and air dryer them in the dryer. They turned out perfectly! Now onto washing the furry fabric part. I turned it inside out and zipped the zipper back up. Threw it in the washer on gentle, and then air dryer it the same way in the dryer. It turned out just perfect! It's not matted down or anything. Honestly it turned out good as new! First picture is my tiny dog in the gigantic bed to show the size of the bed (he's 11#) The video is right after I put the bed back together after washing it. We have two other xl dog beds (Costco/kirkland and furhaven) and this is definitely his favorite.
We have a medium rug in ourbedroom made of a similar faux fur, or dog loves to run and snuggle upside down on it. Maybe it reminds him of snuggle his mom and littermates =) regardless its easy to see how much he enjoys the material.Appreciate the removable stuffing so the cover can easily be washed. Highly recommend. Will likely buy again if another bed is ever needed.
Update 4/10/2025
Bought a second bed of the same plush faux fur material because the first one was accidentally dried in the dryer which ruined the softness, it became sort of matted and less soft (like what happens to sherpa blankets when they are dried at too high of a heat setting). In order to keep the material in good condition I now only air dry.
The bed has a foam filled pad in the middle and two rounded foam inserts for the outer edges, I washed them on gentle 1 time (&air dried) and it was fine but the second time I did this the material holding all the foam ripped. I might try to sew a new sleeve for it out of an old bed sheet, otherwise it is totally trashed. Just something to be wary of, not all components have the same level of “wash-ability”.

If he is napping, he no longer jumps at door if we are home and package arrives, he peaks out from the fur and yawns. At night - I toss into dryer for 10 minutes to get it nice and warm and he waits by dryer and when buzzer goes off her barks. The bed goes at end of our king size bed and he jumps in its warmth and doesn’t stir the whole night! We no longer wake with messed up hair (me) or worrying we will roll over the dog because she lays as close to us as he can. He no longer jumps in the warm Spot if one of us wakes in middle of night to go to restroom. Do yourself, your doggie, a favor a buy this bed. It does not seem like it. I wonder why two styles are sold as the same bed. Obviously they are from different makers, and are totally different. It hasn’t smelled either (to the point where I’ve asked guests if they notice any odors on the chance that maybe I’ve become “nose blind” to it— but they can’t smell anything either) which is shocking to me since we both love to get into mud/muck/get dirty while outside and (unfortunately) he will sometimes zoomie to his bed after such excursions before I can get him cleaned up

When one arrives, my wife asks, “Another dog bed?” I tell her I probably won’t keep it and I usually don’t… until I got this one. Dog beds are like restaurants. Someone may love everything about it while the next may hate it. It’s very individual and you need to first figure out what your dog enjoys. Does she curl up into a ball or lay out flat with her head resting on the side bolster? Once you can figure that out, finding one becomes easier. My dog is all of 12 pounds (and she can afford to lose a pound or 2). I got the medium lux fabric and she loves it. It is super soft and she loves smashing her head on top of the bolster or down underneath it. The larger size is perfect for her but the recommendation for her weight is the smaller one. Keep this is mind when you’re choosing. It’s not so much the size of your dog but how they relax in their bed that’s important. Good price on Amazon…This one’s a keeper! The problem is the durability. The shell, while washable, is permeable - so if your dog has an upset stomach and vomits in the bed for example, it will easily seep into the inner polyester filling bags - which are not designed to go in the washing machine. The inner filling bag material is also very delicate so if your dog chews on the bed, tries to drag it to a different spot, etc. - the inner filling bag will get deformed/frayed/destroyed - and there is no way to buy a replacement just for that piece.Customer image

I ordered the green one and color was true to what was shown on the website. Also, the bottom and sides are separately stitched, so the side filling will stay where it is.
